I have never used Statical software until I enrolled in graduate school. I have used Stata and python, mainly Stata though. From my beginner’s perspective, there are some points.

First, Stata. It helps to check panel data like Excel spreadsheets. We can program some command but this approach is difficult for loop transactions and self-designed formulas.

Python is quite helpful by installing a lot of modules from open network. But it takes efforts to check contained data in PC. Due to this, when you face errors in executing some commands, it is hard for beginners to correct them.

Each has merits and demerits for beginners. As Statical software, it depends on your data to be analyzed but python has some strength to simplify business processes. In addition, python is free!
