“Purchase Order”, you order some quantity of goods with quatated amount
“Goods Received”, they arrive at you as you ordered
“Invoice Recieved”, Invoice arrives at you as you recieved

As a result of PO vs GR and GR vs IR, PO will matches IR. This is the basic idea of 3 way match.

I was highly impressed with 3 way match after I got familiar with SAP. As per some business, however, the concept of 3 way match doesn’t fit and then I was depressed at SAP as I felt sometimes.
