SAP is one of the most popular ERP.

While I worked for a couple of foreign companies, I had actively used SAP. Several Japanese comapanies implemente modules related to Finance.

One big auto manufacturer takes finance modules of SAP into his system and then SAP has experiences of interface between Finanace modules of SAP and his own developed SCM system. In addtion, SAP can support subsidiaries out of Japan. These melits let Japanese companies go for SAP.

From my point of view, SAP is well designed for Segregation Of Duties to alignw with Internal Control purpose.
